Algonquin Elder Jacob (Mowegan) Wawatie
Elder Wawatie is a citizen of the Algonquin Nation of Barriere Lake and member of his Nation's Council of Elders. He is founder of Kokomville Academy which provides outdoor learning opportunities for children and adults to experience living off the land in harmony with Mother Earth according to Algonquin law.
Quechua-Aymara Elder Marcelo Saavedra-Vargas
Elder Saavedra-Vargas is a professor at the University of Ottawa (Program of Aboriginal Studies, Department of History, School of International Development and Global Studies). He is the National Coordinator of the Bolivia Action Solidarity Network and a Board Member of USC Canada. Also, he is currently coordinating the Elder Video Project in collaboration with OPIRG-uOttawa and the Ottawa Quakers.
